FireVision was a thoughtful, engaged team throughout the competition. 59DaysOfCode | Kern County required a rigorous level of commitment from the teams that entered and at all stages of the competition FireVision went above and beyond what we asked of the teams. In a field with over a dozen competitors, our panel of judges awarded FireVision the $10,000 first place prize.

With the persistent threat that wildfires pose both globally and in California, we believe that FireVision’s work is timely and essential. FireVision’s drone-based platform, which captures, analyzes, and distributes real-time data for firefighting teams on the ground is a much needed use of technology to help mitigate the devastation and damage wildfires cause to communities around the world.
